NAMM week started off with a couple days in Hollywood, visiting our friends at Centerstaging backline rentals, Amp Shop in Sherman Oaks – where you can buy EBS amps, cabs and pedals, and Guitar Center on Sunset, where they stock selected EBS pedals. Before we went down to Anaheim to build the booth, we got to see the Arsenio Hall show with our buddy and EBS artist Alex Al in the band (more of that will be seen as a separate post on the blog after NAMM), ending up on US national TV – how bout that?!

Well, now we just finished first day of the NAMM Show. Always great to see old and new friends at the booth checking out EBS gear, and we got to show our new stuff where the EBS Classic 500 was a real eye-and-ear catcher and seemed to impress quite a few! This classy bass head give you full control over your tone using dual mid controls for with cut-and-boost filters for LOW mid and HIGH mid separately. However, since it sounds so good with everything set flat, you can’t go wrong with it! Add to that the ‘magic’ Drive that beef up your tone and, if you like to, give you just the amount of grit to make it a bit dirty – never loosing the bottom of your tone.

The new 500 W RMS power amp give the amp plenty of more headroom than the previous 450, although there’s only a 50 W difference, and the new compact format makes it suitable also for the Classic 112 or a Classic 210 flipped vertical.

We got some great company at the booth by great artists like Prince new bass player Andrew Gouche, Dick and Jens from Meshuggah, Devin Townsend and many more. A great start to the show!

Bummer of the day was that the delivery of the new EBS Valve Drive DI got delayed and will show up in a couple days…but, now worries, we got plenty other stuff to show until then!  See ya all tomorrow!
