Summer in review: EBS @ Sweden Rock 2009
Local crew setting up the main stage at Sweden Rock
The Sweden Rock Festival is the biggest music festival in Sweden with around 35000 visitors. The 4 day event presents a line up of around 70 bands on 5 different stages that represent the finest of classic rock and metal, this year with bands like Journey, Heaven & Hell, ZZ Top and Dream Theater on the bill. For more than five years, EBS has been visiting the show support our artists and connect with people from all over the world. Here’s some pics to capture the event.
This year EBS had the pleasure to have In Flames with EBS Artist Peter Iwers headling on Friday night. The band did a fantastic performance in front of their home countries extatic fans heating up the cold night by blowing up $50 000 worth of fireworks during their set. The show was probably the most remarkable in the history of the festival. The performance also included a suprise act when Swedish pop singer Lisa Miskowsky joined the band on stage to perform a duet with lead singer Anders Fridén on the song ‘Dead End’.
We had a great time hanging out with Peter and the crew having deep talks about hand built fishing rod’s and child raising.
Need we say Peter’s sound kicked some serious ass with his EBS Fafner amps and 2x NeoLine 810 cabinets laying on the stagefloor? 🙂
Soilwork with EBS Artist Ola Flink came straight from a festival in Finland with a 30 minute change over before rocking a large crowd in the sun at Sweden Rock Festival.
These two gigs where their only gigs this summer since the band is preparing for recording their eight album.
Ola’s setup consisted of 2x Fafner amps with 2x EBS ProLine cabinets.
Hammerfall with new bass player Fredrik Larsson, jumped onboard with EBS before their massive European tour earlier this year in support of their latest release ‘No Sacrifice, No Victory’. They did one of their best performances on the tour at Sweden Rock Festival. Fredrik’s EBS setup consisted of a TD650 head and 2x EBS ProLine 410 cabinets.
Bullet is a new old school hard rock band that have had a great year with their latest ‘Bite The Bullet’ album. The band played many of the largest festivals this summer highlighted with a performance in front of 55’000 people at the Ullevi Stadium, supporting AC/DC.
Bass player and EBS Artist Adam Hector uses EBS Classic 450 amps and ClassicLine 810 cabinets.
Sweden’s progressive metalheads had a lot to listen to at this year’s festival, including Stockholm based Seventh Wonder with EBS Artist Andreas Blomqvist. Andreas used an EBS Fafner and a ProLine 810 cabinet.
We say thank you to all our artists and all the great people working with this festival, and look forward to Sweden Rock 2010!
A very special thanks to our photographer Daniel Falk who is a master of catching the very essence of rock and roll on picture and the man behind most live pictures you see in EBS ads and catalogs.
Let’s end with a picture by a not so good photographer catching a different aspect of the rock’n roll lifestyle, Bullet’s legendary tour vehicle, probably among the coolest in the business:
